Job Title: Mechanic
As a Mechanic at RJK Equipment, you will be responsible for performing various levels of repair on equipment and maintaining records of services performed. This includes basic servicing, routine maintenance, as well as full diagnostic repair of equipment, with the aim of achieving effective and efficient outcomes.
The ideal candidate should have experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic, with preference given to those with agricultural expertise. Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail are essential attributes for the role. The candidate should also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be willing to work and travel out of town as required. In addition, the candidate should be available to work weekends and be on call during busy times of the year. Bilingual proficiency would be an added advantage.
The position is hourly paid, with the remuneration commensurate with experience. RKJ Equipment will provide OEM training, with pay increases upon completion of training, as well as specialty equipment training.

CDL Driver – Machinery Operations
Job Description:
RKJ Equipment is seeking a skilled CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Driver with expertise in operating machinery to join our team. As a CDL Driver specializing in Ag machinery operations, you will be responsible for transporting heavy equipment to and from job sites and operating various types of machinery efficiently and safely. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the timely and safe completion of deliveries and other tasks requiring heavy machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Transport heavy machinery to and from customers in a safe and timely manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition and report any defects or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Operate a variety of machinery such as forklifts, skid loaders, tractors, nut harvesting equipment and other construction and agricultural equipment according to project needs and specifications.
- Safely load and unload machinery and implements onto trailers using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Follow technical manuals, instructions and directions.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other personnel to ensure smooth coordination and completion of tasks and deliveries.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment or property.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge of machinery operation techniques and safety practices.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, such as lubricating parts, replacing filters, and cleaning equipment, to ensure optimal performance and longevity or other shop task assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements for operating commercial vehicles and transporting hazardous materials, if required.
- Proven experience as a CDL Driver, preferably in the transportation or construction industry.
- Customer service driven.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating a variety of agricultural and construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to equipment operation and transportation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions and directions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating machinery controls.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks requiring heavy lifting, climbing, bending, and prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as needed to accommodate project deadlines and fluctuating workload.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in heavy equipment operation is a plus.
